Born during our formative years at university, TAMARIND was a collective founded by a group of diverse filmmakers with the primary goal of telling new stories from new perspectives.

Stories that we did not see growing up on screens. Stories that reflected our own experiences and shaped who we are today while also being more connectable to the world outside our borders. Stories that had heart, honesty and reason.

We were a group of everyday kids with no prior connection to any part of the film industry. We had no platform close to us. So we made one.

Today TAMARIND is run by its two founders, Sunny Perera and Thomas Farmer, as we take further steps to grow the collective in pursuit of larger filmmaking opportunities while expanding our platform to others in the process.
